SUGGESTIONS FOR FUTURE IMPROVEMENT

The suggestions listed below are based on my personal views and experiences regarding the project:

1. ensure that the cooperating schools strictly adhere to the rules and guidelines stipulated on the agreement between SEAMEO and the participating educational institutions;

2. provide the participating schools with a direct contact to any personnel in the SEAMEO;

3. have a weekly monitoring as to what exactly is happening within the receiving institutions;

4. require a contract duly signed by the pre-service teacher and the coordinator of the receiving school stating the rules and regulations, internship policies, and most importantly, the agreement between the SEAMEO and the participating colleges/universities;

5. reiterate the importance of cultural appreciation and cultural respect;

6. prescribe a practicum uniform to be used by all SEA-Teacher participants;

7. provide funds for excursion and medical health services;

8. help the participants look for any financial support from any identified sources and partners;

9. extend the duration of the internship; and

10. widen the possibility of participation to other Southeast Asian countries.
