ACADEMIC SUPPORT SYSTEM

The making and the implementation of the Basic Education Core Curriculum 2008 are directed towards achieving common standards by all the educational institutions in Thailand. In order to strengthen the collaborative efforts made by all Thai schools, the VRU Demonstration School has been an active formator of its students beginning from the primary education level wherein the children are exposed to activities developing their basic skills in the different subjects until they reach the lower and upper secondary levels where more rigid training in terms of communication skills, technological literacy, and functional citizenship are aimed to be acquired.



Learning is extended to the students through the efforts made by the a number of stakeholders in the society such as the government personnel, parents, members of the religious community, and the like. Moreover, within the area the surrounding area of the university most especially in the classroom, the teachers facilitate learning through careful selection of appropriate learning processes in order to maximize the learners’ full potential in all the eight areas of learning prescribed by the curriculum.


Centered to the principles of learning management, VRU Demonstration School aims the attainment of high quality standards and competencies as well as desirable characteristics in order to live the ideals of a genuine Thai citizen. The school organizes various activities such as Scouting, English Camps, Mathematics Camps, Outreach Program Activities, Cultural Night, and the like in order to cater the different aspects of learning and the multiple intelligences of its learners. The institution also trains students to develop different yet interconnected learning processes including integrated learning, knowledge-creating, thinking, social, heuristic learning, learning process from actual experiences, process of actual practice, management, research, self-learning, and process of developing characteristics.



To ensure that each and every process done within the learning environment is appropriate and necessary, teachers are required to study the curriculum of the educational institution concerned in order to develop further understanding of the learning standards, indicators, learners’ major capacities, desirable characteristics, and learning contents suitable to learners. In this manner, teachers will be able to create an environment that appreciates and caters differences, provides authentic learning, and develops lifelong learners.


Taking a closer look on more specific areas, careful study and analysis of the data gathered from series of assessments are taken into account since these are some of the few parts of planning learning management in order to stimulate and place learners’ capacities into greater challenges. Moreover, targets have been made known to the students through the initiative of the teachers in order to address varied needs and potentials in a learning environment with a atmosphere conducive to learning, with the right amount of care and assistance. VRU also gives an emphasis on the utilization of media and other learning materials, thorough assessment of learners’ progress, and careful analysis of assessment results for identification of probable learners who may be subject for remedial measures.
