MATERIALS AND OTHER LEARNING SOURCES

The VRU Demonstration School is fortunate enough to be able to provide for itself and its students a huge array of various learning materials and learning sources. With the teaching expertise of the teachers, it is perceived that the university’s students as well as the students coming from its partner schools shall be exposed to authentic learning, exercising their skills in different domains of learning such as cognitive, psychomotor, and affective.



The continuing progress of the institution’s students in different aspects is a visible result of the integration of several kinds of learning materials and learning media such as print and non-print, technological media, and local learning networks. The school has also provided learning media centers, learning information systems, and sufficient learning networks both in school and in the community for the purpose of extending networks for research and study.


Various teaching materials and learning sources are provided by the institution which are all readily available for students’ utilization. Traditional resources such as textbooks and workbooks of different learning areas are found in the library and some other laboratories in the school. Classrooms do also have their own writing books, supplemental reading materials, and even vocabulary and spelling books. Students are also provided with dictionaries, encyclopedia, thesaurus, pamphlets, newspapers, and picture books.



Students are also given manipulative learning materials like graphic organizers. Handmade and purchased diagrams, charts, tables, flow charts, and graphs are also handed to students considering their needs, grade levels, as well as their capacities. Furthermore, to increase technological literacy, the school had also made some technological equipment available for use such as computers, MAC, laptops, wireless microphone, DVD player, projector, projector screen, USB webcam – PC, USB webcam – MAC, science laboratory equipment, musical instruments, and sports equipment.
